On February 18th, 2001, the greatest driver to ever sit behind the wheel of a Winston Cup race car, and arguably any other form of race car was tragically killed on the final turn of the final lap of "The Great American Race", the Daytona 500. Seven time Winston Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt died shortly after his GM Goodwrench Monte Carlo slammed nearly head-on into the 4th turn wall.
The news of Dale's death has been hard for many people to deal with and to cope with. Numerous tribute sites have been constructed to help fans cope with the loss of Dale Earnhardt as well as to help show our love for the greatest driver to ever sit in a race car.
This site has been totally reconstructed to reflect on Dale's career, his love for racing, family, God, and life. At this site you will also be able to read about the visit I had with Dale on the morning of the Daytona 500 outside his motorhome. There will never be a time in my life that will hold such a special meaning to me as that time I spent with him on that fateful day.
So feel free to browse through the pics, stories, stats and reflect on the life of a Champion.
